The Kemcore story
Founded in 2007 by Calisto Radithipa, Kemcore has evolved from a chemical trading business into a fully integrated manufacturing platform. Today, we supply essential reagents and industrial chemicals to mining and mineral processing operations across the SADC region — combining local production, strategic infrastructure, and institutional-grade partnerships to deliver reliable supply at competitive cost.
Mission
To build Africa’s most trusted integrated chemical supply chain — leveraging locally sourced raw materials to manufacture the reagents that critical mineral producers across the SADC region depend on, while reducing costs, strengthening supply security, and enabling sustainable industrial growth.
The Opportunity
Global demand for copper, rare earths, and battery minerals is accelerating at an unprecedented rate. Yet Africa’s mining sector remains heavily dependent on reagents imported from Asia — exposing operations to extended lead times, price volatility, and supply disruptions.
Kemcore directly addresses this gap:
- Local manufacturing reduces reagent costs by up to 35% compared with imported alternatives
- Proximity to operations eliminates the supply chain risks inherent in cross-continental sourcing
- Regional production significantly reduces the carbon emissions associated with chemical logistics
Responsibility
Responsible manufacturing and trading are at the core of how Kemcore operates. We hold ourselves accountable across every dimension of our business — from the environmental impact of our facilities to the welfare of the communities in which we work. By producing chemicals locally, we reduce the carbon footprint of Africa’s mining supply chain as a direct outcome of our business model, not as an afterthought. Our goal is to contribute to global Net Zero objectives by 2050.
